2020 Sunset Sprint 5K/10K - Edgewater Park - Downtown Cleveland, Ohio

Volunteer recruitment is underway for the Sunset Sprint 5K/10K on Friday, October 2, 2020. Participants will race the sunset, live or virtually, along Cleveland's scenic shore of Lake Erie during the Sunset Sprint 5K/10K presented by The Illuminating Company.  
 
We are looking for help in the following ways:
  • Gear Check Assistants
  • Course Assistants
  • Finish Line Assistants
  • Timer Assistants
​As a volunteer, you may be asked to fill in at a different position based on need. Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt to wear while they are working the event. Dinner will also be provided to volunteers during their shift.
 
How we're addressing COVID-19 and social distancing:
The health and well-being of all participants and volunteers are of utmost importance. In efforts to keep our participants safe, we are taking the following measures:
  • Greater Cleveland Sports Commission will adhere to the non-contact sport and social distance guidelines set by local health authorities.
  • Staff and volunteers will be located throughout the event to enforce social distance guidelines and replenish sanitation supplies.
  • Staff, volunteers, and participants are encouraged to monitor their health status for 14 days prior to race day. If they are at any time experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19, please notify GCSC and stay home.
  • Participants are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or facial covering when in common areas. Masks are not required on the course, however, are encouraged. In addition:
    • ​Volunteers will be required to wear a mask or facial covering when around others and representing GCSC at the event
    • Volunteers will be required to sign both a waiver and symptom questionnaire prior to their participation 
  • Spectators are not permitted at the start or finish line.
  • If State guidelines are adjusted, live participants will be notified with updated options regarding their registration.
  • There will be no race day registration on-site.
